We will share everything we know about Assassin’s creed Valhalla till now completely unbiased criticizing its problems and also looking at all the details and features shown in the trailer at Ubisoft Forward and some other unknown facts that we got to know in the following days.
We will cover everything from combat to stealth, animation, character design world-building, and much more stuff.
Assassin’s creed Valhalla
Assassin’s creed Valhalla is an open-world action RPG developed by Ubisoft Montreal studios who also created the previous Assassin’s Creed games.
This installment of Assassins creed is set in 19th century 837CE, During the era when Vikings started invading Britain.
We play as a Viking called Eivor who joins other Vikings in search of Rich farming land for settlement
You get to choose between a female or a male Viking and you can swap between the two in between the game.
They both have the same body types just like we had in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The character name in both cases remains the same Eivor
The world-building is Phenomenal in this game. Ubisoft has made the game more interactive than ever.
During your journey through the game, you will notice so many beautiful little details and stuff you can interact with, Like talking to a random child who is walking by or Exploring and finds hidden secrets through mini-games and some puzzles.
You will find multiple things to interact with during your exploration and the game has done a great job in Rewarding the players for their exploration.
The main transport you use is your longship to anywhere on the map with your crew and you can tell them to sing along or they will tell you stories to keep you occupied.
They have also included some Norse mythology stuff in the game like while exploring you can encounter minibosses connected to Norse myths
I personally loved the Mythological touch Assassin’s creed odyssey and will love to that again
The character customization is more or less are same as the previous games.
You can wear different kinds of gear which will help you boost your stats 3 types mainly just like the skill tree A Raven, A Bear and A Wolf and a also new feature is added that is you can change your hairstyles and have different facial hairs which are pretty good.
They added a feature of catching flying paper while doing parkour and on those paper, you can find cool designs which you can take to a tattoo artist and get a tattoo.
Another type of customization that we are going to see is that customizing your own settlement, It’s a new feature that Ubisoft added you can build your own settlement where your people will live prosper and grow.
Ubisoft made big changes in the combat system as they have emphasized more on the stealth system and also tried to mimic the barbaric combat styles of Vikings like:
Dual-wielding and weapon throwing, yes you can dual wield a weapon not just a weapon but anything, like dual-wielding a shield yeah you can go full captain America with that playstyle.
One hit assassinations are back and they have made the game more brutal like more chopping off limbs and blood splattering just like the Vikings used to be Barbaric.
Stealth improvement, Ubisoft did a great job on stealth system making it more like the old times, Like hiding in the crowd, making yourself one with the environment, calling enemies by whistling, hiding using the environment to take down people.
You also do have your eagle “Odin’s sight” that will help you find out enemies locations, and hidden blade for assassination.
Bounty system has been removed from the game instead if harm any civilians you get desync.
The health system is also been tweaked now you also have a stamina bar that will deplete if you attack or defend yourself, and the enemy will also have the same if the enemies stamina completely depletes you can land a stun attack that deals huge damage, you can also stomp the enemies lying down showing your barbaric side.
Now you cannot regenerate your health over time you have to hunt, fish, scavenge to replenish your health, the game will have a diverse range of animals that you can hunt including the legendary animals.
While doing archery they also show the weak points of people and firing on that weak spot will cause them to fall down and then you can deal a very satisfying final blow.
The player gets to decide how he wants to approach a situation, like in the raiding system you can go raiding with your boys blow the horn for war and pillage the complete area or you can do it stealthily all by your own without your boys.
You also got the abilities system the same as Origins and Odyssey had. There are 3 skill trees called The Raven for an assassin, The Bear is for melee and The Wolf is for range.
They are also introducing the most diverse range of enemies who have different attack patterns and fighting styles which will prevent the game from being repetitive.
Aesthetics and Storytelling
The game right now is still in development the character animations were janky and lightings were not right, so they most probably will fix these problems before release. At this point, the game was not even at par with Odyssey.
The Storytelling in the game is also the same as the odyssey making choices for yourself that can also have consequences later. You can recruit different people to work with you in achieving a task and even making good friendships along the way.
Now, let’s talk about Animus how the present world will link to the ancient world. In the game, you can find some certain places which looked like glitches called animus anomaly and you can interact with them and when you do Lyela Hassan will appear.
She looked a little bit older right now we only know that game will take place after Atlantis episode 3.
Codex also confirmed that there will be playable present-day outside of animus and an option to leave the animus from the menu itself with the animus option you can also change between male and female Eivor.
We can walk and swing our weapons around in the loading screen that appears when you fast travel or when you die. It is also confirmed that the confessions and memory corridor system will be back in Assassin’s creed Valhalla.
